This large scenic park off Abbot Street is open to the public for a wide variety of recreational activities when not in use for Rec activities or for private rentals.

Facilities include four lighted tennis courts, a lighted ball field, lighted pickleball courts, picnic areas, and children’s play area.

The softball field is home to the Andover Rec Adult Co-Ed Softball League, which has a Spring/Summer League as well as a Fall League. The Adult Softball League is extremely popular and plays Monday-Friday nights from April-November. For more information on the softball league click here.

Rec Park is also home to Andover's largest and most affordable summer program, Rec Park Playground! This program is open to Andover residents only and is in session for 7-8 weeks each summer (depending on calendar). More information on Rec Park Playground can be found here.

Rentals

Recreation Park is offered for private rental from April 1-October 31, weather permitting, and when not in use by Recreation Department programs or town leagues. Facilities include the pavilion with covered picnic area, softball field, and children’s’ play area. In addition, there are walking trails throughout the surrounding wooded area. Pomps Pond is not available for private rental.

The maximum capacity is 100.  There are 2 rental options available: ½ day rentals (4 hour max) and full day rentals (8 hour max). Alcohol is NOT permitted on town property. Participants are welcome to bring in their own food or go through a licensed caterer.

A $50 security deposit, signed contract, liability insurance, and valid VISA or MC are required for booking Recreation Park. The key can be picked up at the Recreation Office on the day of rental (Friday if rental date is over the weekend) and must be returned the day after the event (Monday if rental date is over the weekend). The charge for a non-return key is $50.
